This is an old story that comes from the days of past. Way before your mom and dad ever were born and possible before the Pastor of your Church. The story is about three brothers that were believers in Jesus but 2 of them were so busy with life that they wanted to play more than study. The three brothers loved each other with all their hearts and were there for each other when trouble came along.
Well the three brothers needed to build a house for them but two of them had no time for the boring task of building the house so they played and partied, but the third brother he built his house on a solid base and wanted to be ready for the problems of the world that Satin may bring upon their life. Well the three brothers did fininally finish their houses. First brother built his house out of straw because he was so busy and did not have time to prepare for the winter coming on. The second brother made his out of sticks thinking he could do a little better than his first brother did. The two brothers did not spend time being ready and prepared for the coming events like their third brothers but the third brothers was going to be ready and knew that with a good foundation that Satin will not be able to attack him but would be safe in his hands.
Jesus told his disciples a long time ago, even older than these three brothers and he said in Matthew; “There fore whoever hears these saying of mine ( again Jesus is speaking ) and does them I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock ( kind of like the third brother did ) and the ran descended, the floods came ( satin or even a hungry wolf ) and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock ( on Jesus ).
Now everone ( all building not on the rock ) who hears these saying of mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on sand ( or sstraw or sticks ). And the rain descended the flood came and the winds blew and beat on the house and it fell. And it was great.
Jesus should be there for everything we do and especially for the building on the rock.
The brothers tried to cut corners like we do in life and it is easy like not doing our prayers and things to help our family out. We need to remember that Jesus wants us to show his love and to share his grace with our friends.
