Closing Stage of Disaster Ministry - please make sure you type in your answers to the worksheet then print it and publish it .

Note that this website does not save worksheet documents. I do get a copy in my email of what you send me but make sure you keep a hard copy for you. You can also send me a snap shot or picture of the finished document.

Stage 1 : Read Matthew 24:1-14 and pages 589-590 from The Great Controversy by Ellen White. Discuss with your Pathfinder unit or class how current events are reflected in these passages.

Stage 2 : Explain the type of damage most likely to occur to homes and individuals for each of the following major types of disaster. Can be brief if you want but to the point.:

• Hurricanes
• Tornado
• Floods
• Earthquakes
• Wildfires

Stage 3 : Identify the disasters most likely to occur in your area.

Stage 4 : Describe briefly the types of services provided to survivors of disasters by Adventist Community Services (ACS – in the United States and Bermuda) or ADRA Canada (in Canada).

Stage 5 :Identify at least five other governmental agencies or voluntary organizations that respond to disasters in your country.

Stage 6 : Read a report from ACS (http://www.communityservices.org) or ADRA Canada (http://www.adra.ca/wp/) concerning a recent disaster response project   

Stage 7 : Complete the course “Introduction to Disaster Preparedness” provided by Adventist Community Services Disaster Response (contact your local Conference Adventist Community Services Disaster Response Coordinator for information on obtaining this training). Course from ADRA Canada must be identified.

This stage is going to take you the longest. I would like you to comment on all the sections in the Disaster Preparedness Plan. I fill if you can show me what you would do in case of a disaster that you completed this honor.

This honor can and will be helpful if you experience a disaster in the future. Please review this book slowly and if you want to add extra comments with my worksheet. Please do.

Stage 8 : Find a Bible text that you might use to comfort and encourage an individual of your same age and gender that has just experienced the total loss of their home, and tell why you chose that text.

I hope you find this honor exciting because I did. I learned a lot and hope you did.
