Disaster Ministry - #4 - Adventist Community Service

Stage Four of Disaster Ministry - discusses the types of services provided to survivors of disasters by Adventist Community Services (ACS – in the United States and Bermuda) or ADRA Canada (in Canada).

Remember that you should have a notepad or printout of your worksheet. The worksheet is located at the lower part of your Disaster Ministry Screen. If you do not have a printout then take notes so you can put the information needed in the boxes.

In this section you need to look at the various things that ACS/ADRA are doing through their website. Please read some of the news briefs to get a better idea on what these organization do or are able to help people with. Source : ( Community Services )

The various services are coordinated through local churches, with local conferences stepping in during large scale disasters. ACS/ADRA coordinates with government and NGOs (Non-Government Organizations) to divide the responsibilities and needs among different bodies. Often ADRA/ACS will assume responsibility for logistics and warehousing based on standing agreements with other agencies.

What else can you think of that could be considered a services to people in need?

Please listen to the Video for the needed information for step 4 on worksheet.
